Sigma Tau Delta
Here is a little bit about who we are:
Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honor Society, was founded at Dakota Wesleyan University in 1924. Today, they have upwards of 800 chapters, including a chapter at California State University, Chico.
Chico State is the Alpha Kappa Tau chapter of Sigma Tau Delta. The current adviser for the club is John Traver. The members are all English majors or minors. Currently, Brittany DeLacy serves as President, with Rachel Ramirez as the Vice President, Monique Iles as the Secretary, Danielle Gilmore as the Treasurer and Katelyn Allen as Historian and Events Planner..
In order to be a member, you must be an English major or minor who has taken two English classes beyond English 130. You need to have a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.0 English GPA. A onetime $40 fee is required.

Hi my name is Katelyn Allen. I am the Event Planner and Historian for California State University, Chico's chapter of the English Honor Society-Sigma Tau Delta. As well as a member of the Student California Teachers Association SCTA. I am studying English Education at CSU Chico to become a high school English teacher. After I teach for a few years I am planning on getting my Admin. credential to become a high school principal. I hope you enjoy our organization here at Chico State. I am very excited that our school has a chapter of Sigma Tau Delta. I have great ideas and plans for all members in the club! I look forward to building great friendships with every one of you.

Hello! I am Rachel Ramirez, English Edu. major and Vice President of Sigma Tau Delta. My entire life has been surrounded with literature and writing, which is why I decided that I want to teach what I've learned to others. I enjoy reading all kinds of literature, painting flowers, being outside in the fresh air, and have long glorious and hilarious conversations with my best friends. You can also find me at the CSU Chico library, where I work at the front desk as a supervisor. I hope to experience as much as can while I am young to further not only my academic education, but also my education of life.
Hi, I’m Brittany DeLacy! I am the current president of Sigma Tau Delta. I am studying English Studies and am graduating in the Spring. Literature is absolutely my favorite thing about life. I have too many favorite books to list, but I'm currently in love with "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt. I plan on continuing my education after I graduate. I currently teach a couple sections of English 30 and I love it! My life is filled with English and reading and writing and literature of all sorts – I wouldn't change it for anything!
